Classes & Membership

Studio Potters offer classes for all levels, as well as memberships which includes 24 hours access to our equipment and facilities. To become a member, you must display a competency and knowledge in pottery from classes, higher education or experience.

Classes

  • Class members may need to buy a bag of clay on the first day. Extra charges apply for firing and glazing, depending on the size of your creations.

  • Class members will explore making pots by pinching, coiling, slab building, press moulding and throwing on the wheel.

  • Class members must be 18 years of age or over.

    There is no central booking. Please contact tutors directly (see below) to find out if there are vacancies.

Membership Benefits

  • 24h access to all club room facilities; wheels; kilns; locker; clay purchases; use of library; and work space.

  • You may exhibit in the Gallery (Pottery on Fourth) and in our annual exhibitions (subject to selection process and acceptance.)

  • Participation in specialised workshops is popular with members. During the year, the Committee arranges one day or weekend skill workshops as opportunities present.


    APPLICATION PROCESS
    An application for membership is presented to the committee who assess the applicants evidence of skill:

  • 3 pots should be presented or other photographic documentation.

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or over.

  • Please attach to your application a photocopy of your Driver’s License or another form of identity with a photograph.

  • Please submit evidence of pottery experience e.g. examples of pots, photos, documentation of experience.

  • All sections of the application must be filled in, unless otherwise stated on the form.

  • Application can be submitted in-person or through e-mail.

After the Committee has approved a membership application an invoice is sent for the following fees:
